August Meeting - Heroclix
5 August 2003, 8:00PM, Bowes Pub, Fleet Street, Dublin 2

The August meeting of the SciFiClub will feature Richie Lawlor of SubCity giving a talk and demonstration of the Heroclix gaming system.

After the popularity of the free Hulk Heroclix figures (kindly donated by John Hendricks of Third Place) which were given out at the Irish SF News 1st anniversary Party on the 20th of June, as well as at the Table Quiz the following week, it seemed that perhaps people would be interested in learning more about them, and as we know Richie is involved in running the SubCity gaming nights in the Exchequer Bar every Tuesday, he seemed the ideal person to talk about it.

Richie has offered to bring along a number of pre-made Heroclix teams to help to demonstrate how the system works, and this promised to be an entertaining and informative evening for all.

The meeting takes place on the first Tuesday of the month, in this case the 5th of August, in the upstairs lounge of Bowe’s Pub in Fleet Street at 8 PM, as always!

By the way, don’t forget to listen to the latest Crazy Dog Audio Theatre production for RTÉ, Beyond the Back of Beyond, which continues its six-week broadcast next Thursday night, the 31st of July at 8.02 PM on RTÉ Radio 1. More information about this is at

Best wishes,
