Issue 38 - 2004-05-27
This is a reminder about the next Sci-Fi Club meeting which will take place in Bowes Pub, Fleet Street on Tuesday 1st June. The speaker will be Michael Carroll, and while we aren't sure what he's going to talk about, anyone who's heard him speak before will affirm that it doesn't really matter. Michael has a special talent for making any topic fascinating. Currently a successful writer, his former careers include postman and computer programmer.
The meeting starts at 8pm with friendly chat among members, and the talk will begin at 8:45 sharp. This is a little earlier than usual, to accomodate a slightly longer break for smokers. If you have any old books or videos you don't want, please bring them along for our raffle which takes place after the main talk at abou 10pm.
July's meeting will be about Machine Intelligence. The speaker will be Míchéal Úa Séadhgha, who also gave the Tolkien talk last December.
We are looking for ideas and speakers for future meetings, so if you have any ideas, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.
