LostCarPark gets the Writing Bug

Mon 4th Nov 2002

LostCarPark gets the Writing BugIf updates are a little slow in coming on LostCarPark this month, it may be because it's editor are busy writing his first novel. Although it's something he's been intending to do for several years, more pressing matters have always kept him from getting started.

The National Novel Writing Month has at last inspired him to pick up his keyboard and give it a go. The aim is to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November (which out of meanness happens to be a 30-day month). So far, progress has been slow, but a rough outline now exists, as well as the first couple of thousand words.

Of course, another part of the inspiration has to come from the "Faking It" panel at Octocon, where our editor pretended to be the successful novelist promoting his new book, "The Andromeda Highway", while the guest authors pretended to be adoring fans. Needless to say, the working title is "The Andromeda Highway" (thanks to Ian Watson for that one).

Chapter one down, only nineteen to go!
