Robert Rankin commits seven deadly sins at Mecon

Sinead Larkin, Convention Director of Mecon 7 tells us that everything is set for a most excellent weekend. LostCarPark has enjoyed itself at many a Mecon, and can highly recommend the experience. There is still some accommodation available, so please email the organisers if you need any help.

Mecon 7 is the seventh annual convention of the Queen's University of Belfast Science-Fiction and Fantasy Society, to be held from 5-7 March 2004. Our Guest of Honour this year is the sublime Robert Rankin, and other guests include John Meaney, Michael Carroll, Ian McDonald, Paul Holden, and Glenn Fabry.
Events at Mecon will include panels with the guests, video showings, table quiz, disco, and more to be confirmed. Mecon supports the Ulster Cancer Foundation, and we will have several events to raise money for this charity, including a Charity Raffle, and a Charity Coffee Morning. As this is our seventh convention, we are also holding events themed around the '7 Deadly Sins'. Participation in these events is greatly encouraged and the winners of each event will win a specially themed prize!
Weekend membership currently costs £18, with day rates and Minor rates also available. Mascot membership costs £1. T-shirts for the event are also available.
