James Bacon Heads West

Today is the first day of Noreascon, the 2004 Worldcon, and Irish fan James Bacon is there reporting on back to Europe. As reported previously, he is the official representitive of TAFF. He intends to make his presence felt, and has already got himself on the staff of the childcare services (should we be worried?).
What is TAFF? The Trans Atlantic Fan Fund began many years ago when international travel was expensive. Fans would group together to send a representitive to a convention in another country. Eventually, these arangements were formalised and fan funds such as TAFF and DUFF (Down Under Fan Fund) were formed.
Of course transatlantic flights are a lot cheaper nowadays, but the tradition continues, and James will be performing various official duties while at Worldcon.
James promises to send back lots of news and photos from Worldcon, and has already got his laptop connected to the hotel's internet connection. LostCarPark is hosting a special website where James will post all the news from Stateside.
