So aaanyway. What are you all reading at the moment?

I'm reading Down the Bright Way by Robert Reed. Not bad. There's reason enough to keep turning the pages Smile

If you like Michael Marshal Smith, I'd strongly recommend Jeff Noon. Try starting with Vurt and see where it takes you. A real roller coaster of ideas in a world that is at the same time strange and not a million miles from our own.

You could also try Charles Stross. He's another one that's hard to squeeze into a genre, as he has had so many books published in a relatively short time, but you could loosely fit some of them into space opera on the fringes of cyberpunk also ranging into fantasy and horror. His latest book Accelerando is available free on the web (but if you like it, buy the paper version).

I'd also reiterate China Meiville.

You are wise beyond your years, young Grasshopper. May the Manifold Gods grant you safe passage through this great journay.

Yep I like Jeff Noon I have to say.

China's at the top of my next purchase list. Thanks guys.

Think there's any hope of Mr. Marshall Smith returning to Sci Fi? Maybe if we "giggle" of fans were to petition him perhaps?!?!?

A Giggle of Fans, well that's new to these ears.
A Giggle of Fans, it sounds like we should be out on the moors hunting Blake Seven fans in the wild.

Yes it is and most of us like it that way. The Internet is full of buggers who think everything they say is the only way there is to be.
Here on Lostcarpark we take some time to consider our replies, it may come late and behind the normal curve of online debate, but we get there at sometime or other.

Thats why I like it here.

A quiet online message forum - by choice. Well, there's an oxymoron for you.

Right so - I'll bugger off to another forum then so.

I would reveal what I'm currently reading, but it might be a clue to a quiz answer at the scifi club's annual March quiz night this Tuesday...so I'll pass on answering until at least Wednesday Smile

I picked that one up in the airport and had no idea what to expect - it's great though have to say. Totally unique.
